Stopped at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Let me just say it's worth the trip, It was Wednesday so they were open late and Ienjoyed wandering around all the exhibits. I truly enjoyed the Dick Clark video clips and the induction ceremony clips. Highly recommended.

Leonid & Friends finish their 3 hour set at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, IL with friends and supporters. This band of incredible musicians specialize in perfect reductions of music by the band Chicago, and and now added some Blood Sweat & Tears, ELO, and Paul McCartney. My second time seeing them and well worth the trip.

Quad City Storm Paint The Ice for Veterans.
The Quad City Storm have their fans out to Paint The Ice with veteran names this week. I had the pleasure to capture the result with some drone images and some panoramas.
The above image is a Little Planet Projection of a 360 Panorama.
Click here to see the full 360 Panorama. This was made with a Nodal Ninja Panorama head and an Olympus OM-D M1X in Hi Res mode with an 8mm fisheye.
I also flew my Mavic 2 Pro drone inside the TaxSlayer Center to capture overhead shots of the ice. I stitched 34 images together to get the following result. The final image is 20,000 x 10,000 pixels and shows incredible detail.

As you may know, I switched entirely from Canon gear to the Olympus OM-D camera system this year. There are a ton of things I like about this system, but one really stepped out this week. That is the incredible image stabilization with the IBIS (In body imaging stabilization) as well as the image stabilization in some lenses. Here's a perfect example. This image was shot with the Olympus OM-D E-M1X and Olympus M.Zuiko 300mm f4 IS lens. As the Olympus OM-D is a Micro Four Thirds system, this becomes an effective focal length of 600mm. I've found that I like to shoot concert photos at The Rust Belt from a short ladder half way back close to the sound and lighting control pit. Typically I use a 40-150 mm f/2.8 lens (80mm-300mm effective focal length) for wide shots and the 300mm f/4 for close ups. Sometimes the lighting isn't the best, but I still manage to get pretty good shots with this Camera system.
This photo of the mandolin player in the Still Shine band is an example of a photo in challenging conditions. It was shot at ISO 3200, at 600mm effective focal length, f/4 aperture and hand held at 1/25th of a second. Yes, that's not a typo,
one twenty fifth of a second. Kind of blows the guideline of one over the focal length out of the water doesn't it???? You can find this full frame / full res photo in an album of a few of my Olympus OM-D shots in this

Needless to say, I'm pretty happy with my decision to switch to Olympus!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley had an Open House to celebrate 25 Years in the Quad Cities. The highlight of the event was a special announcement to dedicate the facility as the Bob & Belinda Ontiveros Teen Center. Bob & Belinda are a very special couple that have been incredible supporters of the Boys & Girls Clubs for sometime. I am honored to call them friends. Here's a photo of Bob. I had the pleasure of photographing the Mitsubishi Electric Classic at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, GA. This is a PGA TOUR Champions event and gave me the opportunity to photograph some of the icons in the game. It was also a great trial to prove out my new Olympus OM-D E-M1X Camera System - silent, fast, light, and weatherproof. Perfect for golf. It was KISS night for the Quad City Storm. Gwen Tombergs and her team put together quite an event for the Hockey Game the night before KISS is to play at the Taxslayer Center in Moline. I offered to do a fan panorama. Needless to say it all didn't go off without a hitch. When it came time for my 90 seconds on the ice, the focus on my camera drifted off :-(. Fortunately Gwen and her staff arranged a retake in the second period to save the day. Thanks gang.
